IN THE EVENT OF A PROPERTY LOSS
- It is crucial to report the loss immediately. The insurance contract requires notice as soon as possible after there has been a loss.
- Make temporary repairs to prevent further damages such as boarding up the windows to prevent additional interior water damage, covering the roof, boarding up the windows, or removing fallen debris.
- Always keep hold of receipts for the repairs and provide copies to the adjuster.
- DO NOT make permanent repairs to your damaged property unless the adjuster has reviewed your claim and permitted you to repair your property.
- Take photographs of the damages. Taking pictures will help you with your claim and will support the adjuster in the investigation.
- Be sure to include pictures of your property before the loss. This will be helpful for the adjuster investigation of the claim.
